Join us for a Self-Paced Garden Crawl Event right here in Chapin!

Celebrate Earth Day by getting outside for an afternoon of exploring! Visit some of the beautiful gardens and natural spaces around town while engaging in fun activities at every step along the way. Whether you're a seasoned gardener or just discovering your love for nature, our self-paced garden crawl event promises an engaging experience for all ages. Mark your calendars, gather your friends and family, and prepare to embark on an outdoor adventure!

Each stop along the way includes:

  • Hands-On Make-and-Take Activities: Unleash your inner artist and gardener as you engage in DIY activities at each garden location. From planting seeds to creating garden art, there's something for everyone to enjoy!

  • Discover Beautiful Spaces: Explore and discover the beautiful natural spaces around Chapin including Town Hall’s pollinator garden and bluebird trail, Field of Eden’s budding community garden, and several local school gardens run by passionate students and teachers. Each garden has a unique charm waiting to be discovered.

  • Engaging, Educational Opportunities: Learn from seasoned gardeners and environmentalists including representatives from the Chapin Garden Club, and the SC Wildlife Federation, as well as from elementary and intermediate students with a deep love for our planet.

  • Collectible Painted Rocks: You can purchase a hand-painted rock at each location. These rocks serve as mementos of your adventure and proceeds go to support garden and conservation efforts at these locations..

 How to Participate:

  1. Pick up a passport at the Team Landolph table at any of the participating garden locations to begin your journey.

  2. Use a passport to guide you to and through each participating location to ensure you don't miss a thing! Once you’ve filled out the whole card, you can head back to the Team Landolph table to share your accomplishments and fill out a card to be entered to win a basket of garden-themed goodies!

  3. Share your photos and stories on social media using #ChapinGardenCrawl2024 to connect with fellow participants and inspire others to join in the fun.

We look forward to seeing the community come out to explore even more of what makes Chapin so special!

Sincerely,

Kaitlyn Baxa, Jennifer Layton, Amanda Mohr, and Teresa Randolph
